Personal Stories

If we cannot see it, we cannot be it.

This section is all about shining a light on how things can be different. It features real stories from real people showing that change is possible.

As we make progress on more of the actions contained in the strategy, we know that the number of personal stories featured in this section will grow. We aim to share stories from a range of different angles:

  • From individuals who have secured employment despite their criminal records

  • From employers who have provided jobs to people with a criminal past

  • From social enterprises who have played a significant role in someone's journey to mainstream employment

  • From entrepreneurs who have turned their lives around through setting up their own businesses

  • From public bodies who have procured goods & services from social enterprises
