Mentor Stories

Prison Entrepreneurship Programme Lead Tutor & Business Mentor

Seán Byrne

I am a highly experienced financial specialist with extensive knowledge of the personal and professional sectors as well as the SME market.  I worked in banking for over 40 years and I am a Qualified Financial Advisor, a Personal Insolvency Practitioner and a Certified Mediator.

Since retirement, I have been working to support people and SMEs to solve their financial difficulties and to turnaround and grow their business successfully.  I am very active in my community and I serve on the Boards of Dublin South City Partnership and Rathmines College of Further Education, where I also deliver an evening course on Business Start Up.

In more recent times, I am delighted to have been involved in the development of the Prison Entrepreneurship Program in Wheatfield Prison, alongside Domini Kemp.  I feel privileged and rewarded to have the opportunity to use my experience and knowledge to help and encourage other people to learn about the business world and to use it to get a ‘Fresh Start’ in life.
